The event will take place on Wednesday, May 1 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at Café Citron (1343 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, DC). We have reserved for this event the VIP Room located on the third floor and which has a separate entrance to the left on the main door.

Friday, May 4, 2012, sergeant major Florinel Enache of 280 Infantry Battalion was gravely injured, while in mission in Zabul province, Afghanistan. The Romanian soldier, who was fulfilling a field search mission, suffered severe wounds caused by the detonation of an improvised explosive device. Sergeant Major Florinel Enache was evacuated from Afghanistan, under emergency procedure and, due to the surgical interventions and sustained efforts of U.S. physicians, his life was saved with the price of amputating both legs and the left arm, above the elbow. He suffered also numerous contusions and back injuries. The Romanian soldier is currently under treatment at ”Walter Reed” Military Hospital of Bethesda, Maryland, United States, where he benefits from the care treatment provided by the U.S. doctors. He will be repatriated to Romania after the stabilization of his health condition. Sergeant major Florinel Enache was born in Gura Caliței, a village of Vrancea County, he is married and has a son aged 20. The life of the Romanian hero and his family will totally change. His critical health condition will require continuous care from his family, as well as long-term and complex medical treatment. At this difficult time, Florinel Enache and his family need emotional, spiritual, and financial support.
