BH-9121PHO-1After years of culinary research and travel throughout Europe, chef Kimmy Tang discovered Romania.  There she spent two years exploring local cuisine and leaning about the culture, its rich traditions and challenging social and economic issues. While serving as a culinary consultant for the foreign production offices at Media Pro, Romania’s largest complex of film studios, she visited a nearby orphanage.  She was deeply touched to see and hold the young children who were growing up without the touch and caring guidance of a parent.  She visited several other centers where she helped with in-kind donations of food, clothes and toys.  Back in the US, she rediscovered Blue Heron Foundation, a California-based non-profit charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Romanian orphaned and abandoned children and thus decided to continue her legacy of help through a collaboration with the organization that shares her call.
