The most famous Romanian symphonic ensemble, an avatar of the National Youth Orchestra, begins its first American tour, which will take this unique group lead by cello player Marin Cazacu from Miami to New York and from New Jersey to Detroit in what is expected to be one of the biggest Romanian cultural presences in the US for decades. Acclaimed all over the world for its assured sound and youthful passion, the orchestra will be conducted by Romanian-American musical rising star Cristian Măcelaru, with award-winning cellist Adrian Ioniță as soloist for most of the performances. The two-week tour, endorsed by the famous composer and trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, who will join the ensemble for the New York events, is organized by the National Center „Tinerimea Română/Romanian Youth” and Primo Artists with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, the Embassy of Romania to the United States, The Ministry of Culture of Romania, the Consulate General of Romania in Miami and several partners in Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Michigan.
