I have decided to write some words about a legend actor, ROGER MOORE, ‘THE SAINT’ will never die…
I was a young man from Romania of Ceausescu. It was forbidden for us to know Western civilization. Roger Moore (alias THE SAINT) appeared as a miracle on television in Romania. Since then he has been our window of civilization from the West.
Years later, in 1994, I had the opportunity to visit as a poet all UK areas. I have seen many sites related to what I had seen on TV thanks to THE SAINT.
I can not explain even today as Roger Moore (THE SAINT) made it possible to see the UK before I ever get there.
I write this text into English because after BREXIT the English language won’t be an official language of the EU anymore. But I will always love the English language and I will always remember ROGER MOORE. THE SAINT will never die for what he has done for me / for my generation / from a Romania where to travel abroad has not been allowed before 1989. But THE SAINT has helped us to travel abroad. That’s why ROGER MOORE / THE SAINT will never die.
