Name: Razvan Ciprian Lapadat
Born: October 22, 1967 in Resita, Romania
Studies: “Fratii Buzesti” High School, Craiova, Romania (1982-1986); “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania (1987-1993); Resident in Occupational Diseases Bucharest, Romania (1994-1995).
I arrived in the US on the 28-th of November, 1995 after accepting a job offer in Denver. I worked as a research fellow at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver, CO, between 1995 and June 2001. My studies were mainly focused on the fields of immunology and molecular biology. During this period I tried to find answers concerning the links between the process of aging and the reduced microbial defense. After June 2001 I started working at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in the Depertment of Pharmacology.
I am married to Gabriela and we have a son, Adrian, born on Nov 28, 2001. As a coincidence his birthday marks the fifth anniversary of my arrival in the US. Right now Adrian is in Craiova with my parents in law and we both miss him a lot.
My wife is a physician as well and she graduated in 1992 from the Timisoara Medical School. We live in Central Denver and love a lot the Colorado mountains and the blue sky. We go hiking in the summer and enjoy the dry snow powder during the winter as well. It reminds both of us the days when we went in the Fagaras Mountains area no matter the season. Romanian folk dances with the “Hora Mare” dance group are another activity we enjoy a lot and I’d like to invite other people interested to join our group as well.
